Grand Blanc Academy(K-8) has a family oriented staff that supports each other through encouragement, partnership, and student engagement. The student body is made up of over 400 children and 50 staff members. Our goal is to maintain high expectations and have fun while learning!
We are seeking a dependable team member to assist with daily school food service, including morning food prep, meal setup and serving, classroom meal delivery, portioning and meal counts, stocking and storing food, and kitchen cleanup. Duties include washing and sanitizing dishes, equipment, counters, carts, steam tables, refrigerators, freezers, sinks, and other food service areas.
Must be able to lift 20–50 lbs., complete 8 hours of required training annually, and assist with other food service duties as needed.
Job Summary
The Food Service Coordinator & Kitchen Aide supports the daily operation of the school food service program by assisting with food preparation, meal setup and service, classroom meal delivery, meal portioning, meal counts, stocking, and kitchen cleanup. This position helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized food service environment while working cooperatively with school staff and other food service team members. The Food Service Coordinator & Kitchen Aide must be dependable, able to follow food service procedures, and willing to assist with additional duties as needed.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties
Assist with morning food preparation and daily meal service.
Set up and serve breakfast, lunch, and other school meals as assigned.
Deliver meals to classrooms and other designated areas.
Portion meals according to established food service guidelines.
Accurately complete meal counts and related documentation.
Stock, organize, and properly store food and supplies.
Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, and food service equipment.
Clean and sanitize counters, carts, steam tables, refrigerators, freezers, sinks, and other food service areas.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and food service environment.
Follow established food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures.
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies as needed.
Follow proper procedures for handling and storing food to maintain quality and safety.
Assist with inventory and notify appropriate staff when supplies are low.
Follow school and food service policies and procedures.
Complete all required annual food service training.
Assist with other food service duties and responsibilities as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous food service, kitchen, cafeteria, or school food service experience preferred.
Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, and food safety practices preferred.
Ability to follow food service procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Strong reliability, teamwork, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift 20–50 pounds.
Ability to complete 8 hours of required food service training annually.
Dependable, punctual, and willing to assist with a variety of food service duties.
Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude when working with students and staff.
